There were rumors and whispers, but it was finally announced today, the exact culinary group that brought upstanding Italian fare to Johns Island will do the same for Sullivan’s Island. Chef Jacques Larson and the Wild Olive Restaurant Group will open The Obstinate Daughter on Middle Street in January 2014. The name is borrowed from a Revolutionary War political cartoon.
The focus will be on wood-fired pizzas, small plates and a raw bar. Eater has heard other speculations that a gelato space might be involved, and perhaps a prominent King Street chef would hop over to the project, but these were not confirmed by the press release.
